History of the company

FERONA Slovakia a.s. is a direct successor of the "Slovak joint stock company for iron and steel", which was founded by shareholders on 29th October 1919 in Bratislava.

It has gradually undergone the following development:

1922

Construction of a warehouse at the current Račianska street.

1927

Construction of a warehouse and administrative premises at the street of Čsl. armády.

1930

The company FOŽ (Fleister – Ottáhal – Živnobanka) was founded in the areal of Nová Žilina.

1937

Establishment of a consignment stock based on the syndicate FOŽ, Graber, Flaister, Schirger for a sale of rolled material; other metallurgical products are moved to newly-built objects at Hviezdoslavova street in Žilina.

1940

FOŽ is taking over the whole suppling activity of a company EAS Bratislava via delimitation; range of goods added with building armour and tools.

1941

The Fleischer Schirger company is standing out of the syndicate, and FOŽ and Graecer-Manessmann's successor are carrying out the whole consignatory activity.

1945

FOŽ takes over all supplies of the companies Petzold a Runa (without objects and devices).

1946

FOŽ takes over all supplies of the companies:

a) Manessmann with warehouses in Bratislava and Martin
b) Fleischer and Schirger in Košice – 3 warehouses a 3 shops
c) Styria, Bahler and Poldi with a warehouse and administrative in Bratislava

1948

FOŽ takes over Kovorobné a strojárenské závody and the whole market activity of a company Coburg.

1949

Establishment of a steel pipes warehouse in a port of Bratislava.

1962

As a part of delimitation, KZMH's sales activities were taken over in Nitra.

The company was subsequently transformed into Metallurgical sale basis, n.p. Bratislava.

1965

The integration of Metallurgical sale basis into Metallurgical sale, n.p. Praha with offices in Bratislava, Nitra, Žilina, Martin and Košice.

1969

Starting from 1 January 1969, the "Ferona" brand is coming into existence on the basis of decision of Ministry of Heavy Industry with the competence of state economic organizations - national conditions in the following locations: Prague, Plzeň, Most, Liberec, Hradec Králové, Brno, Olomouc, Ostrava, Bratislava, Žilina and Košice.

1972

Transformation into branches of organization Ferona, national company, Prague.

1989

National company transformation into state company Ferona, š.p., Prague.

1992

Establishment of a joint stock company, a.s., Praha and 11 branches at the same time.

1994

All 3 Slovak branches (Žilina, Bratislava, Košice) have become independent limited liability companies

FERONA Bratislava, s.r.o., Bratislava
FERONA Košice, s.r.o., Košice

with a sole owner FERONA, a.s., Prague.

1996

FERONA Žilina, a.s., Žilina, FERONA Bratislava, a.s., Bratislava a FERONA Košice, a.s., Košice were established via deed. Bratislava and Košice ceased to exist within one year and all rights and obligations were taken over by FERONA Žilina, a.s., Žilina.

1997

The business name is changing from FERONA Žilina, a.s., Žilina to FERONA Slovakia, a.s., Žilina.

2001

By merging the company FERONA Slovakia, a.s., Žilina and Ferona Slovakia, s.r.o., Žilina is coming to life a company FERONA Slovakia Žilina, a.s., Žilina. Subsequently, on 20th November 2001, the business name of the FERONA Slovakia Žilina joint stock company was changed to FERONA Slovakia, a.s.

2019

By decision of the shareholders, Ferona Servis Centrum Slovakia, a.s., Bratislava was merged into FERONA Slovakia, a.s., Žilina and is operating under the name FERONA Slovakia, a.s., Steel Service Centrum.
